  • 1-2 Cups Rolled oats
  • 1 Tbsp Fenugreek seeds
  • 1 Tbsp Himalayan salt Add salt as your need
  • 1 Sprig Curry Leaves
  • 1 Piece Green chillies
  • 1 Handful Shallots or u can can use 1 medium size onion.
  • 1 Cup Water
  • 1 Inch Ginger slice
  • 2 Tbsp Wood press oil
  • 1 Tbsp Ghee

  • To make instant oats dosa into a bowl adding in one cup old-fashioned rolled oats, the reason why I am using old fashioned rolled oats is that it is more high in fibre.
  • After this add 1 teaspoon fenugreek seeds also known as Methi seeds.
  • Then adding some water and going to wash and rinse this a couple of times until the water runs clear.
  • And once rinsed add some more water and soak this oats about 10-15 minutes. you need to soak the oats is that soaking the oats will help to release the phytic acid content in oats, phytic acid prevents nutrient absorption and may cause digestive issues to some people so it’s  always ideal to soak grains like oats before cooking them to soak it for about 10 to 15 minutes.
  • After 15 minutes the oats are nicely soaked so rinse it a couple of times.
  • Then keep it on a strainer.
  • After that adding 1 handful of shallots. Shallots are good source of iron and folate hence, if you don't have shallots in hand then you can use 1 medium size onion.
  • For some extra add of iron and folate, i am adding in 1 sprig of curry leaves.
  • Next adding 1 green chilli which breaking into two.
  • Then add small piece of ginger which was roughly chopping.
  • After that adding the soaked and stained oats and add 1 tbsp Himalayan salt in it.
  • Add 1 cup water.
  • After adding water blend the everything until everything nicely mixed and it becomes into a dosa batter consistency .
  • After that pour the blended instant oats dosa batter into a bowl, if you are in a hurry in the morning and don't have time to soak the oats you can always soak the oats overnight for making recipe of oats dosa batter.
  • Let's start making crispy oats dosas. Heat a frying pan and grease it wood press oil.
  • Then reduce the flame of oven and pour in one to one and a half lateral full of the dosa batter.
  • After that add some drizzle of desi ghee in the center on the sides. If you vegan then you can use wood press oil on your choice.
  • On the low flame allow the dosa to get cooked and crispy.
  • Once the side crisp and nicely cooked, you can just flip it over.
  • Once the other side also cooked you remove from the frying pan and now your healthy recipe of oats dosa is ready to serve.

  • Batter consistency: The batter should have a thin, runny consistency similar to that of rava dosa batter. You get mushy dosas rather than crisp ones if the batter is just a little bit thick. Before using the full quantity of batter, test a tiny amount to see how the dosa turns out.
  • To adjust a thick or thin batter: Too thin a batter will result in dosas that are limp and without any structure or form. If the batter is too thin, whisk in 1 or 2 teaspoons of rice flour, if necessary, then add more as needed. If the batter is too thick, add one or two teaspoons of water to thin it out.
  • Temperature of pan/tawa : The pan, or tawa, must be hot in order for the batter to be poured to produce tiny holes that give the dish a lacy appearance.
  • Cooking time: Do not be hurried to remove these quick dosas from the pan because they take longer to cook than traditional dosas. Only remove them after they are crispy and browned on both sides.
  • Every time you prepare a dosa, stir the batter thoroughly with the ladle before scooping it into the pan to cook.
  • Using a cast-iron pan or skillet: Make sure the pan (tawa) is thoroughly seasoned if you're using a cast-iron pan. Alternatively, the dosa will adhere to the pan.
  • Prevent the oats dosa from sticking on the tawa: The addition of onion or shallots will prevent the oats dosa from sticking to the tawa, also make sure your tawa/ frying pan is well-seasoned cast and tawa.
